Compressor Oil

Selso Compressor oil is premium lubricants are designed for use in of both reciprocating and rotary air compressors based upon highly refined mineral oils. The Selso air compressor oil formulation is enhanced with additive technology providing excellent thermal and oxidative stability and good load carrying capacity, compared to other products in the same class.

2 Variants : VG32 / VG68

Application :

Selso compressor oil were developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced

in reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures of up to 220ºC.Under these conditions Selso compressor air offers much reduced carbon-forming tendencies and extended oil life due to their much higher oxidation resistance. Whilst Selso Compressor was primarily intended for

  • crankcase and cylinders in reciprocating air compressors
  • certain types of turbochargers

However as a general guide VG 32 is suitable for oil flooded rotary compressors, whereas VG68

and 100 would be selected for lubricating the crankcase and cylinders of reciprocating compressors.

Selso Air Compressor Oil can be used for either normal or severe duty lubrication of reciprocating and rotary drip-feed air compressors, as

defined by ISO 6743.

Normal duty is described as:-

discharge temperatures =/< 165°C

differential pressures =/< 2.5 MPa (25 bar)

discharge pressures =/< 7.0 MPa (70 bar).

Heavy Duty is described as:-

discharge temperatures > 165°C

differential pressures > 2.5 MPa (25 bar)

discharge pressures > 7.0 MPa (70 bar)

Benefits :

  • Good water separation characteristics allows condensation to readily separate from the oil, minimising the risk of emulsions which could block the oil separator element.
  • Fully inhibited against corrosion which enables protection even when operating under humid conditions.
  • Good thermal stability, low volatility and low carbon formation reduces the risk of fire and explosion and leads to a longer operating life (up to 2000 hours).
  • Low deposit forming tendencies extends oil change intervals and provides longer air filter life which contributes to a reduction in maintenance costs.
  • High load carrying to meet requirements of geared compressor units.

Specifications :

Selso Air Compressor Oil is classified as follows:

  • ISO 6743/3-DAG, DAH and DAJ for rotary screw air compressors
  • DAA and DAB for reciprocating (piston) and drip freed rotary air compressors
  • DIN 51506 classification- VDL
